Born in 1974, Anthony Michael Dinallo became interested in painting at
the age of 16. Painting afforded him the opportunity to release the intense emotions
of teenage years. Dinallo found that the ability to execute his emotions, visually, was powerful
yet therapeutic. Dinallos' first painting focused on the US and its involvement
in the first Gulf War - Desert Storm. He began to evolve his subjects -
recording his travels, memories and relationships in paint.
Dinallo attended Fordham University where he studied psychology and art. He continued to paint
during his entire college career. Through his studies Dinallo was exposed to an
art movement which would later become a strong influence in his work -
Surrealism. Dinallo was fascinated with the dreamstate, subconscious images. His
canvases began to take on a slanted perspective of reality, not unlike surrealism.
He continues to evolve and experiment with size, media and subject. He is currently redefining himself
as an artist by adding a more American political taste to his work, hence the birth of Abstract Americana.
Dinallo presently resides in Hoboken, NJ. |
