The Wanting is a Hoboken, NJ, based indie band made up of three musicians who bring a wide range of experience. Anthony, a native of NJ and singer/songwriter and guitarist of the Wanting, has performed in several bands - Motel Creeps, 7 Minds, Nancy Once A Day and Neptune Fields. He has appeared on two shanachie compilations, Ska: The Third Wave: Vol 2 and Ska: The Third Wave: Vol 3 and on two soundtracks for Warren Miller Productions, Snowriders 2 and Ride. In 1998, 7 Minds made the CMJ top 20 College list which catapulted the band into regular rotation on several maintstream stations - G Rock Radio-106.3-formerly known as WHTG 106.3, WRAT-The Rat Rocks! (South Jersey), WDHA 105.5-Jersey's Own Rock Radio and WSOU 89.5-Seton Hall (North Jersey). Constant rotation of Coffee and Seaside Tony gained and maintianed the band's large popularity across the tri-state area. Anthony was a major contributor in the songwriting of both of these songs.

Tim Hillman originally from Texas, is the drummer extraordinaire. Tim has jammed with bands such as Greyladydown, Dirty Soup Spoons and Flungdaddy. Alex Tansor, originally from Washington DC, rocks the bass and is formally of Confusion's Prince which has performed at NJPAC, The Black Potato Festival in Clinton, NJ and several venues in NY and NJ. These seasoned musicians come together to create a sound distinctively influenced by bands such as The Smiths, Depeche Mode, The Cure and REM. Presently the band can be seen at the Canal Room, Tribeca Rock Club, Maxwell's and several other tri-state venues.
